A clinical study on the effects of masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin on the proportion of female lower face in North Anhui

ObjectiveTo compare the difference of the proportion of lower face between North Anhui female and Asian beautiful stars using Photoshop image processing software, and investigate the effects of masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin on the difference.

MethodsThe front and lateral photographs of 40 North Anhui females before and after masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin and 40 Asian beautiful stars were measured using the Photoshop image processing software.The proportions of lower face between North Anhui female before injection and Asian beautiful stars were compared.The proportions of lower face in North Anhui females after masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin and Asianeautiful stars were statistically analyzed to investigate the effects of masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin on the lower face of North Anhui female.

ResultsAmong the 11 facial proportion indicators, the ratios of lower/upper width, lower/middle width, lower/eyelid width, lower/mouth width, lower/upper height, lower/morphological height and lower/nose height in North Anhui females were greater than those in Asian stars(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The differences of 7 indexes of masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin were not statistically significant compared with female stars (P>0.05).

ConclusionsThere is a certain difference in the proportion of lower face between women in North Anhui and Asian beautiful stars.The masseter injection with type A botulinum toxin can change the width of lower face.The aesthetic proportion of the lower face can be used as a reference for clinical medical cosmetology to guide clinical plastic surgery.
