    Analysis on the current situation of knowledge, attitude and practice of psychological assessment in clinical nurses, and its influencing factors

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the status of clinical nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice of psychological assessment, and analyze the influencing factors, so as to provide reference for nursing managers to strengthen relevant training and quality management.
      MethodsA total of 2 454 clinical nurses from a tertiary first-class hospital in Hubei province were selected as study subjects by convenience sampling method.The nurses were investigated using the self-designed questionnaire for psychological assessment of clinical nurse.
      ResultsA total of 2 453 valid questionnaires were collected.The total score of clinical nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice status of psychological assessment was (87.98±37.67), and the scores of knowledge dimension, attitude dimension and practice dimension were (84.28±18.67), (96.17±10.61) and (83.50±17.33), respectively.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the total scores of clinical nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice status of psychological assessment in female, surgery department, ent, advanced department compared with the oncology department, and department carring out psychological assessment training and inpatient psychological assessment were the highest(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
      ConclusionsThe knowledge, attitude and practice level of psychological assessment of clinical nurses still need to be improved, and the nursing managers need to develop targeted psychological assessment training programs, and strengthen related quality management to improve the overall quality of nursing team.
