Comparison of the value between ultrasound-guided breast rototomy and open surgery in the treatment of benign breast masses

    • ObjectiveTo explore the value of ultrasound-guided breast rototomy and open surgery in the treatment of benign breast masses, and precautions of breast rototomy.
MethodsOne hundred and twenty benign breast mass cases treated with ultrasound-guided breast rototomy and 125 benign breast mass cases treated with open surgery were divided into the observation group and control group, respectively. The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative complications, scar length and patient satisfaction were compared between two groups.
ResultsThe intraoperative blood loss, operation time, length of postoperative scar and length of hospital stay in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and the difference of the resection rate of mass between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The incidence rate of postoperative complications in observation group(3.33%) was significantly lower than that in control group(11.20%)(P < 0.01).The results of postoperative following-up showed that the satisfaction with the appearance of breast in observation group(94.17%) was significantly higher than that in control group (85.00%)(P < 0.01).
ConclusionsCompared with the open surgery, the ultrasound-guided breast rototomy has the advantage of minimally invasive treatment, and higher application value in the treatment of benign breast masses.
