    Study on the differences of the professional attitude in male and female nursing students and its influencing factors

    • ObjectiveTo understand the professional attitude of male and female nursing students, and grasp the difference of the influencing factors of professional attitude between male and female nursing students.
      MethodsThe male and female students from a medical college were selected using the conditions sampling and convenience sampling, respectively.All students were investigated.
      ResultsThe score of professional attitude of nursing students was (4.34±0.65)points, the professional attitude score of male and female nursing students were (4.29±0.71)points and (4.36±0.63)points, respectively, the difference of which between male and female students was not statistically significant(P>0.05), and the differences of professional attitude of nursing students among different grade, family residence, professional choice motivation, vocational interest and vocational choice were statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the family residence, professional choice motivation, profession interest and profession choice were the independent influencing factors of nursing students' professional attitude(P < 0.01).Among the gender in the factors influencing the professional attitude of nursing students, the differences of attitude of family members, attitude of students of this major and other majors, attitude of schools and their own identification with the major were statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
      ConclusionsThe professional attitude in male and female nursing students are negative and lack of professional interest.The family residence, and willingness and interest of nursing students affect their professional attitude.The difference of gender in the influence factors of nursing students' professional attitude is deeply, and influenced by the traditional social concepts, so schools and nursing educators should pay more attention to it.
