Comparison of the curative effects between transaxillary approach non-inflatable total cavity endoscopy and open radical thyroidectomy

    • ObjectiveTo compare the curative effects between transaxillary approach non-inflatable total cavity endoscopy and open radical thyroidectomy in the treatment of stage cN0 thyroid papillary microcarcinoma.
MethodsThe clinicopathological data of 60 cases with stage cN0 thyroid papillary microcarcinoma were retrospectively analyzed.Thirty cases were treated with transaxillary approach non-inflatable total cavity endoscopy radical thyroidectomy(observation group), and 30 cases were treated with transaxillary approach open radical thyroidectomy(control group). The clinical efficacy was compared between two groups.
ResultsThe differences of the number of lymph node dissection and positive number of lymph node metastasis in central region, and incidence rate of total complications were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The operative time, total amount of drainage fluid and length of hospital stay in observation group were more than those in control group, the intraoperative blood loss in observation group was less than that in control group, and the neck and chest pain score and aesthetic satisfaction in observation group were better than those in control group(P < 0.01).
ConclusionsCompared with open radical thyroidectomy, the transaxillary approach non-inflatable total cavity endoscopy radical thyroidectomy can guarantee the safety of surgery, reduce postoperative pain and greatly improve aesthetic satisfaction.
