Analysis of the status of nurses' burnout and its influencing factors

    • ObjectiveTo understand the current status of nurses' burnout and its related influencing factors, to provide a theoretical basis for alleviating nurses' burnout.
MethodsUsing a convenient sampling method, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 700 nurses in 13 general hospitals including the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and others. The influencing factors were analyzed using 2test and ordinal logistic regression.
ResultsThe nurses' burnout score was(157.1±18.6)points.There were 108(15.4%)nurses with no or slight burnout, 291(41.6%)with mild to moderate burnout, and 301(43.0%)with severe burnout.Ordinal logistic regression analysis showed that the shift system of two shifts, average weekly working length of 40 to 50 hours, satisfaction with the current job, their own physical condition and poor sleep quality(sleep disturbance)were the main influencing factors of nurses' burnout.
ConclusionsThe rate of nurses' burnout is high, which is related to frequent shifts, long working hours, and poor physical and sleep conditions.
