Effect of Delphi method combined with level management on the nursing quality of critical illness in newborns

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Delphi method combined with level management on the nursing quality of critical illness in newborns.

MethodsThe newborns with critical illness from July 2013 to June 2014 treated with conventional nursing management were set as control group, and newborns with critical illness from July 2014 to June 2015 treated with Delphi method combined with level management were set as observation group.The nursing quality and success rate of rescue in newborns with critical illness before and after the implementation of Delphi method combined with level management were compared.

ResultsThe scores of the nurses in neonatology department in ward management, basic nursing, medical record writing, nursing record, accident risk management and total nursing quality etc.in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P < 0.01).The success rate of rescue and satisfaction rate of family members in observation group were higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05 and P < 0.01), and the complications and nursing disputes in observation group were lower than those in control group(P < 0.05).

ConclusionsThe application of Delphi method combined with level management in newborns with critical illness can help to improve the nursing quality and success rate of rescue, reduce the occurrence of complications, and improve the satisfaction rate of family members.
