Correlation between resilience and career status of post-90s nurses in Shaanxi province

    • ObjectiveTo understand the status quo of resilience and career status of post-90s nurses in Shaanxi province, and explore the correlation between them, so as to provide theoretical basis for clinical nursing human resource management.
MethodsFrom January to March 2019, 1 159 post-90s nurses from 9 grade A tertiary hospitals in Shaanxi province were investigated using general information questionnaire, resilience evaluation scale of medical staff and career status evaluation scale.SPSS 23.0 was used for single factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.
ResultsThe total scores of resilience and career status of post-90s nurses in Shaanxi were (73.22±0.85) points and (86.45±15.01) points, respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that the differences of the resilience scores among the post-90s nurses with different genders, regions, educational backgrounds, professional titles, working hours and advanced training experience were statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and the differences of the score of career status among post-90s nurses with different regions, professional titles, working hours and advanced training experience were statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the gender, region and advanced training experience were the influencing factors of resilience, and the region, working hours and advanced training experience were the influencing factors of career status(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of correlation analysis showed that the resilience of post-90s nurses was positively correlated with the total score and each dimension score of career status(P < 0.01).
ConclusionsNursing managers should pay more attention to and train the post-90s nurses, improve their management mechanism, pay performance and humanistic care, so as to improve their resilience and promote their career development.
