Prevention effects of simplified finger exercise on radial artery occlusion and related complications after coronary angiography

    • ObjectiveTo observe the intervention effects of simplified finger exercise on the radial artery occlusion and related complications after coronary angiography(CAG).
MethodsA total of 326 patients treated with transradial CAG were randomly divided into the observation group(163 cases) and control group(163 cases). The observation group and control group were given the routine care combined with simplified finger exercise and routine care, respectively. The palm-circumference diameter, degree of numbness and pain, and incidence rate of radial artery occlusion after 24 h and 30 d of operation were observed.
ResultsThe degree of postoperative limb pain, numbness and swelling in observation group were lower than those in control group(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The incidence rate of radial artery occlusion in observation group after 24 h of operation was lower than that in control group(P < 0.05), and there was no statistical significance in the bleeding degree and incidence rate of radial artery occlusion after 30 d of operation between two groups(P > 0.05).
ConclusionsThe simplified finger exercise can reduce limb numbness, pain and swelling after CAG via radial artery, and reduce the incidence rate of radial artery occlusion after 24 h of surgery.
