Application of the ultrasonic waterjet combined with vacuum sealing drainage in diabetic foot ulcer

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effects of the ultrasonic waterjet combined with vacuum sealing drainage(VSD) in the treatment of chronic diabetic foot ulcer.
MethodsA total of 40 diabetic foot ulcer patients from January 2018 to December 2020 were selected, and randomly divided into observation group and control group(20 cases in each group). The observation group was treated with ultrasonic waterjet combined with VSD, and the control group was treated with traditional surgical debridement combined with VSD.The treatment effects, pain degree, ankle-brachial index and complication rate between two groups were compared.
ResultsAfter the first debridement, the wound surface, granulation tissue growth and inflammatory manifestations in observation group were better than those in control group(P < 0.05).After treatment, the pain degree and ABI in two groups were reduced compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01), and the improvement of pain degree and ABI in observation group were better than those in control group after treatment(P < 0.05).The differences of the infection and survival of skin grafting or flap between two groups after treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).
ConclusionsThe application of ultrasonic waterjet combined with VSD in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcer can increase the healing ability of ulcer wound, reduce the occurrence of complications, and improve the quality of life of patients.
