Correlation between vitamin D level and ovarian reserve function in infertile women

ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between vitamin D level and ovarian reserve function in infertile women.

MethodsEighty infertile women were selected.25(OH)D₃, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) level were detected.Sinus follicle count (AFC) was observed by ultrasonography.The correlation between 25(OH)D₃ level and AMH, FSH, AFC was analyzed.

ResultsAmong the 80 infertile women, 26 cases(32.50%) were deficient in vitamin D, 19 cases(23.75%) were insufficient in vitamin D, and 35 cases(43.75%) were sufficient in vitamin D.There were no significant differences in age, body mass index, infertility years, infertility reasons and endocrine among the 3 groups of patients with different 25(OH)D₃ level (P>0.05).Multiple linear regression showed that 25(OH)D₃ level was not correlated with AMH, FSH, AFC(P>0.05).

ConclusionsThere was no correlation between vitamin D level and various indicators of ovarian reserve function in infertile women, and vitamin D supplementation may not improve ovarian reserve function in infertile women.
