ObjectiveTo analyze the application effect of flow chart based on key point control principle in intestinal preparation program for elderly patients.
MethodsA total of 120 patients undergoing colonoscopy were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, 60 patients in each group. The control group received routine colonoscopy education, and the observation group adopted flow chart based on the key points control principle for intestinal preparation intervention. After the intervention, there were 56 patients in the observation group and 55 patients in the control group. The Boston bowel preparation scale (BBPS) score, bowel preparation compliance rate and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
ResultsThe intestinal preparation failure rate in the observation group 17.86% (10/56) was lower than that in the control group 41.82% (23/55), the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01).The BBPS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.01).The compliance of diet preparation, medication preparation and exercise preparation in the observation group was significantly higher than those in the control group (P < 0.01), and the incidence of nausea, abdominal distention and dizziness was significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
ConclusionsThe application of flow chart based on key point control principle can improve the quality of intestinal preparation in elderly patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
