Changes of serum level of C-reactive protein, red blood cell distribution width and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and their clinical significance

    • ObjectiveTo investigate the changes of serum level of C-reactive protein(CRP), red blood cell distribution width(RDW)and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and its clinical significance.
MethodsOne hundred and fifty patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and 100 patients with non-atrial fibrillation at the same period were divided into the atrial fibrillation and control group, respectively. The names, ages, combined diseases, laboratory indicators in two groups were recorded, and compared between two groups. The atrial fibrillation group wsd subdivided into the paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group(50 cases)and non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group(100 cases, including persistent atrial fibrillation, long-term persistent atrial fibrillation and permanent atrial fibrillation)according to the classification criteria of atrial fibrillation, and the index among the subgroups of atrial fibrillation were compared.
ResultsThe differences of the NLR, RDW and CRP in atrial fibrillation group and control group were statistically significant(P < 0.01), and the differences of the ROW, CRP and NLR in subgroups of atrial fibrillation were also statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the RDW and NLR might be an independent predictor of atrial fibrillation(P < 0.01).
ConclusionsThe CRP, RDW and NLR are closely related to the occurrence of non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and the RDW and NLR may be the independent predictors of the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. The CRP, RDW and NLR are closely related to the duration of non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and the CRP, RDW and NLR in non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group are higher than those in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation group.
