ObjectiveTo investigate the characteristics of mastery in elderly patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI), and to explore its influencing factors.
MethodsThe convenient sampling method was selected, 193 elderly CHD patients after PCI were investigated using the general information questionnaire, Herth Hope Index (HHI) and Personal Mastery Scale (PMS).
ResultsA total of 205 questionnaires were distributed, among them, 193 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the effective recovery rate was 94.1%.The mean score of PMS was (20.64±4.00).There had statistical differences about the mastery of patients according to the different educational level, residence, types of medical insurance, number of stents, whether blood lipid was abnormal, and whether PCI was performed for the first time (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).PMS was positively correlated with HHI (r=0.324, P < 0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that when the blood lipid and hope were abnormal, the residence was in rural area, the type of medical insurance was self-expense, the mastery of these patients was lower (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).
ConclusionsThe level of mastery in elderly CHD patients after PCI needs to be improved, and the targeted intervention measures should be formulated according to the influencing factors.
