The curative effects of moxibustion combined with traditional Chinese medicine encapsulation in the treatment of cold-dampness obstruction type LDH

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effects of moxibustion combined with traditional Chinese medicine encapsulation in the treatment of cold-dampness obstruction type lumbar disc herniation(LDH).

MethodsA total of 80 patients with cold-dampness obstruction type LDH were randomly divided into the control group and combined treatment group according to random number table method(40 cases each group).The control group were treated with the routine treatment and nursing of cold-dampness obstruction type LDH.The combined treatment group were treated with the moxibustion combined with traditional Chinese medicine encapsulation on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy, VAS, ODI and JOA scores in two groups were observed before and after treatment.

ResultsAfter treatment, the effective rate in the combined treatment group(95%) was better than that in control group(80%, P < 0.05).The VAS and ODI scores in two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the scores of combined treatment group were lower(P < 0.01).The JOA scores in two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, the score of combined treatment group was higher, and the difference of which between two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).

ConclusionsThe moxibustion combined with traditional Chinese medicine encapsulation can improve the lumbar function and relieve pain of cold-damp-obstruction lumbar disc herniation, and the clinical effect is remarkable and worthy of promoting.
