ObjectiveTo investigate the predictive effect of tumor markers combined with ultrasound and risk of ovarian malignancy algorithm(ROMA) index on ovarian malignancy.
MethodsOne hundred and ninety-seven patients were operated for pelvic mass.According to the postoperative pathological reports, 112 were benign ovarian lesions (benign group) and 85 were malignant ovarian lesions (malignant group). The results of CA125, CA153, CA199, CA 199, AFP, CEA, HE4, ultrasound findings and ROMA index were analyzed to determine their predictive effect on ovarian malignancy.
ResultsUltrasound diagnosed benign ovarian lesions with an accuracy of more than 90%.CA125, CA153, HE4 and ROMA index increased than benign ovarian lesions (P<0.01).CA125 and HE4 showed the higher sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of ovarian malignant lesions with more than 94%.
ConclusionsThe combination of CA125, HE4, ROMA index and gynecological ultrasound has the high sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for the diagnosis of ovarian malignant lesions, which can be used as an important markers to predict the malignant ovarian lesions.
