Study on the correlation between different therapeutic effects of enalapril maleate in patients with H-type hypertension and MTHFR genotype

    • ObjectiveTo analyze the genotype of methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) in patients with different therapeutic effects of enalapril maleate on H-type hypertension.
MethodsOne hundred and eighty patients with H-type hypertension were selected as the study subjects. All the patients took enalapril maleate tablets orally and were divided into effective group and ineffective group according to the treatment effect. The MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism of patients was compared between the two groups. The differences of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and homocysteine (Hcy) in patients with different MTHFR genotypes before and after treatment were compared.
ResultsThe total effective rate of all patients treated with enalapril maleate was 77.78%(140/180).There was no statistically significant difference in the distribution of type CC, type CT, and type TT MTHFR genes of patients between the two groups (P>0.05);type CT MTHFR gene had the highest proportion in the two groups. The difference in SBP, DBP, and Hcy of CT and TT genotype patients between before and after treatment was higher than that of CC genotype patients (P < 0.05), while the difference in SBP, DBP, and Hcy of TT genotype patients between before and after treatment was higher than that of CC and CT genotype patients (P < 0.05).
ConclusionsThe efficacy of enalapril maleate in the treatment of H-type hypertension is closely related to MTHFR genotype.
