Application effect of simple head cooling combined with ganglioside in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of simple head cooling combined with ganglioside in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).

Methods A total of 100 neonates with HIE were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with ganglioside, and the observation group was treated with simple head cooling combined with ganglioside.The clinical performance improvement time, level of hematological indexes before and after treatment, neonatal neurobehavioral score (NBNA), clinical efficacy, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.

Results The improvement time of convulsions, disturbance of consciousness, pupil changes, hypotonia, and gastrointestinal dysfunction in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.01).After treatment, the NSE, IL-6, CK, and CK-MB of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.01), the serum calcium and NBNA scores were significantly higher than those before treatment (P < 0.01), and all indicators of children in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P < 0.01).The total effective rate of the observation group(82.00%, 41/50) was higher than that of the control group(62.00%, 31/50)(P < 0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups.

Conclusions The simple head cooling combined with ganglioside in the treatment of HIE can significantly improve the clinical symptoms, hematological examination index levels, and NBNA score.The clinical efficacy is clear and superior to that of ganglioside alone.
