    Application of course-based ideological and political theory education in the Human Structure and Function

    • Objective To improve the teaching quality and human education function of the basic medical integration course by integrating the contents of course-based ideological and political theory education into the teaching process of Human Structure and Function.
      Methods Using random sampling principle, 55 students majoring in biological sciences in the class of 2021 of a medical university were selected as the observation group, and 84 students majoring in biomedical sciences and biotechnology in the class of 2021 were selected as the control group.The observation group organically integrated the contents of ideological and political theory education in the teaching of the basic medical integration course into their daily teaching process by using diversified means and methods such as case-based introductory teaching, PBL teaching, video, discussion, and so on.The control group integrated the ideological and political theory education into the traditional teaching mode.The usual grades, test paper grades and final overall assessment scores of the two groups were compared, the knowledge, values and behavioral satisfaction of the two groups were compared, and the correlation between grades, values and behavioral satisfaction was analyzed.
      Results The usual grades of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0.01), and the grades of the examination paper and the final general assessment were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.01).The satisfaction level of the knowledge dimension level and the satisfaction level of the value dimension level (except for the formation of inner cultivation and the cultivation of noble medical ethics in the value dimension) were higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01).At the level of the behavioral dimension, the satisfaction level of the participation in voluntary blood donation and volunteer service and the initiative of course study was higher only in the behavioral dimension than those in the control group (P < 0.01 and P < 0.05).
      Conclusions The integration of course-bosed ideological and political theory education elements into curriculum teaching is helpful to improve students' interest in learning and learning effect, improve students' values, and achieve the teaching goal of cultivating people with virtue.
