Effect of MATN3 expression on invasion and migration ability of gastric cancer cells and correlation study of EMT

    • Objective To investigate the effect of martrilin3 (MATN3) expression on invasion and migration ability and epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of gastric cancer cells.
Methods The expression of MATN3 in different gastric cancer cell lines was detected. The efficiency of silencing and overexpressing MATN3 was assessed. The changes of invasion and migration ability, and expression of EMT-related proteins of gastric cancer cells after silencing and overexpressing MATN3 were detected.
Results There were differences in the expression of MATN3 in different gastric cancer cell lines. Silencing MATN3 resulted in a decrease in the invasion and migration ability of gastric cancer cells (P<0.01), while overexpression of MATN3 resulted in an increase in the invasion and migration ability of gastric cancer cells (P<0.01). Silencing MATN3 led to decreased expression of EMT-related protein E-Cadherin and increased expression of N-Cadherin, while overexpression of MATN3 led to increased expression of E-Cadherin and decreased expression of N-Cadherin (P<0.01).
Conclusions The change of MATN3 expression leads to the change of invasion and migration ability of gastric cancer cells and the change of EMT-related protein expression, which affects the EMT process of gastric cancer cells.
