Objective To analyze the characteristics of Lorenz-RR scatter plot in elderly patients with suspected atrial premature beats diagnosed as sinus arrhythmia by dynamic electrocardiogram.
Methods The results of dynamic electrocardiogram examination of 137 elderly patients over 60 years old with suspected atrial premature beats were recorded by Holter. The Lorenz-RR scatter plot of sinus arrhythmia was obtained by using Holter software and summarized.
Results The 137 patients with suspected atrial premature beats were diagnosed as sinus arrhythmia by dynamic electrocardiogram. The characteristics of Holter Lorenz-RR scatter plot were classified as follows: oblique "Y" shape was found in 58 cases (42.3%) of 137 patients, "rod-shaped dilatation" was found in 33 cases (24%), "rod-shaped" was found in 29 cases (21.2%), "irregular shape" was found in 13 cases (9.5%), "vertical separation" was found in 2 cases (1.5%), and "transverse separation combined with longitudinal separation" was found in 2 cases (1.5%).
Conclusions The dynamic electrocardiogram scatter plot is more convenient and accurate for the detection of sinus arrhythmia in elderly patients with suspected atrial premature beats, and has high clinical application value.
