Study on the current frailty status and influencing factors of elderly female patients with pelvic floor dysfunction

    • Objective: To investigate the frailty status of elderly female patients with pelvic floor dysfunction(PFD), and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: By using convenience sampling, 184 elderly female patients with PFD were selected as the research subjects. The patients were investigated using the general information questionnaire, groningen frailty index scale, mini-geriatric nutrition questionnaire, pelvic floor dysfunction questionnaire, self-rating generalized anxiety scale and simplified geriatric depression scale.Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were used to analyze the influencing factors of frailty in elderly female patients with PFD. Results: The prevalence of frailty among elderly female patients with PFD was 40.2%.The educational background, presence or absence of a spouse, high pelvic floor dysfunction questionnaire score and combined depressive state might be risk factors of frailty in elderly patients with PFD (P < 0.05 to P < 0.01). Conclusions: The prevalence of frailty among elderly female patients with PFD is relatively high, and there are many influencing factors.Medical staff should proactively pay attention to the frailty issue in elderly female patients with PFD, and aetively adopt targeted intervention measures to reduce and control the occur rence and progression of frailty.
