Abstract
Objective: To explore the application effect of therapeutic games using toy nebulizers and face masks in the first nebulization inhalation of preschool children. Methods: One hundred and sixty-four children who underwent nebulization therapy for the first time were selected and randomly divided into a control group and a game group according to a random number table method. Both groups of children received routine intervention measures, while the game group received therapeutic game intervention using toy nebulizers and face masks. The anxiety, nebulization therapy compliance, and clinical symptom improvement of the two groups of children were compared. Results: After intervention, the scores of the modified Yale preoperative anxiety scale and the induction period cooperative scale in the game group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01).The duration of fever, cough, and pulmonary wet rales in the game group were all shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions: Therapeutic games using toy nebulizers and face masks can effectively improve anxiety during the first nebulization inhalation therapy in preschool children, enhance treatment compliance, and better improve clinical symptoms.
