A visual analysis of the life-space mobility of elderly based on Web of Science

    • Objective: To analyze the current research status, hotspots and development trends related to the life-space mobility of elderly. Methods: By using the bibliometric method, the literatures related to the life-space mobility of elderly published from January 1, 2018 to January 23, 2024 were searched from the Web of Science Core Collection database.CiteSpace and VOSviewer were utilized to conduct visual analysis on the number of published articles, authors of articles and keywords. Results: A total of 349 literatures were ultimately included. The number of papers published on the life-space mobility among the global elderly was generally on the rise.Among them, the authors with the largest number of papers were Rantanen and Taina from the University of Jyvaskyla(29 papers). The research hotspots mainly focused on the assessment tools, influencing factors and health outcomes.Social factors and disease factors were gradually becoming the development trend. Conclusions: In recent years, the issue of life-space mobility of elderly has gradually received widespread attention.Future research should expand research perspectives through interdisciplinary collaboration to provide scientific basis for improving the quality of life of elderly and promoting healthy aging.
