The clinical application value of bridging internal fixation system assisted by digital orthopedic 3D visualization technology in the treatment of ipsilateral femoral multi-segment fractures

    • Objective To investigate the application value of the bridge internal fixation system assisted by three-dimensional visualization technology in treating ipsilateral femoral multifragmentary fractures.
Methods Thirty ipsilateral femoral multifragmentary fractures patients treated with bridge internal fixation system were selected, and divided into two groups according to reduction methods, the observation group(15 cases) were treated with preoperative computer simulation reduction and 3D-printed model simulation reduction, while the control group(15 cases) were treated with conventional preoperative examinations and surgery. The treatment outcomes, operative time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay, pain scores, knee and hip joint function scores, and postoperative complications in two groups were recorded.
Results The excellent and good rates in the observation group and control group after the operation were 93.33%(14/15) and 80.00%(12/15) respectively.Compared with the control group, the observation group had shorter operation time, less intraoperative blood loss and shorter hospital stay, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.01).The pain scores in the observation group after 3, 4 and 6 months of operation were lower than those in control group(P < 0.01).The HSS scores in the observation group after 3, 4, and 6 months of operation were higher than those in control group(P < 0.01).After 4 and 6 months of operation, the Harris hip function score in the observation group was higher than that in control group(P < 0.05 and P < 0.01).The differences in the joint stiffness and muscle atrophy between two groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05).
Conclusions With the assistance of three-dimensional visualization technology and 3D-printed models, the bridge internal fixation system can serve as an effective treatment option for ipsilateral femoral multifragmentary fractures, and the therapeutic effect is good.
