Application value of attribute hierarchical model in the scoring criteria for nursing skill assessment

    • Objective  To construct a scoring criteria for nursing skill assessment based on the attribute hierarchical model(AHM) theory, and verify its teaching application value.
Methods  Taking the intravenous indwelling needle infusion operation in the nursing skills event of the National Vocational College Skills Competition as an example, a quantitative scoring criteria was constructed using the AHM theory. The nursing experts were invited to conduct three rounds of consultations using Delphi method to clarify the weights of operational indicators. The implementation effect was verified in the skills training and assessment of vocational college nursing students.
Results  The AHM scoring criterion had a higher inter-rater reliability (P < 0.05). The non-compliance rates of key operation links(such as exhaust, needle insertion and hose pushing) in the observation group were lower than those in control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusions  The scoring criteria constructed by AHM achieves an organic combination of expert experience and quantitative analysis, and can significantly enhance the scientificity and objectivity of the scoring. This standard can accurately identify weak links in operation, provide a basis for formulating personalized training plans, and is of great significance for improving the quality of nursing skill training.
