Abstract
Objective: To observe the protective effects of diammonium glycyrrihizine on liver injury caused by severe acute pancreatitis(SAP). Methods: Forty-eight SAP patients with liver injury were randomly divided into group A(n=24) and B(n=24). Patients in group A were treated with routine method, and patients in group B were treated with routine method plus diammonium glycyrrihizine injection. Twenty four normal individuals were used as control. The levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6) were measured by ELISA. At the same time, the levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), glutamyl transferase (GGT), total bilirubin (TB) and direct bilirubin (DB) were measured by automatic biochemistry analyzer. Results: The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-6,ALT,AST,GGT,TB and DB decreased in both group A and B on the 15 d after admission, but the extent of reduction in group B was significantly higher than that in group A(P < 0.01). Conclusions: Diammonium glycyrrihizine can inhibit inflammatory response in SAP,and play a protective role in liver injury caused by SAP.
