Autologous single-bundle hamstring tendon in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament in 15 cases

    • Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of autologous single-bundle hamstring tendon in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) under arthroscopy. Methods: Fifteen patients with ACL rupture diagnosed by arthroscopy were treated with the single bundle reconstruction of autologous quadrupled hamstring tendons. The femur and tibia ends were fixed by the Endobutton system and interference screw, respectively. Results: All patients were followed up for 3 to 12 months,no severe complication occurred, the knee joint stability was strengthened. The Lachman test was negative in 12 cases, and the Lachman test was weakly positive in 3cases.The range of knee joint activity was 120° to 160° at the last follow-up.The Lysholm scores of the knee joint function before and after operation were 56 to 76 and 86 to 100,respectively.The knee joint activities of all patients recovered. Conclusions: The reconstruction ACL with autologous single-bundle hamstring tendon under arthroscopy is a reliable method for recovering the stability of knee joint.
