Changes of sex hormone in postmenopausal women with impaired glucose tolerance

Objective: To investigate the changes of sex hormones in postmenopausal womem with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT).Methods: Forty five postmenopausal womem were divided into two groups:impaired glucose tolerance group(n=25) and normal group(n=20).The fasting insulin(INS),testosterone(T),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),lutenizine hormone(LH),estradiol(E₂) were measured by chemilumine immunoassay.Results: Compared with that in nomal group,the levels of the fasting insulin,T,E₂,FLH,LH increased,and E₂ decreased in impaired glucose tolerance group.Conclusions: The sex hormones are one of the perfect indexes showed the metabolic changes in postmenopausal womem with impaired glucose tolerance.
