Sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast carcinoma

    • Objective: To observe the feasibility and clinical significance of sentinel lymph node biopsy(SLNB) in patients with breast cancer. Methods: Twenty three cases of breast cancer were given 4 ml of 1% methylene blue solution;and 15 minutes later,SLNB was carried out and inspected separately. Results: SLN was detected in 22 of the 23 cases(95.7%),with a sensitivity rate of 6/7 and false negative rate of 4.76%(1/21).Conclusions: SLNB is a simple and safe technic, which helps to reveal the state of the axillary lymph nodes.
