    Cause analysis of 108 cases with fever of unknown origin

    • Objective:To investigate the causes of fever of unknown origin (FUO).Methods:The clinical data of 108 cases fulfilled the criteria of FUO were retrospectively analyzed in our hospital.Results:The diagnosis of FUO was clarified in 97 cases out of all 108 cases.The causes were as follows:Fifty-eight cases were suffered from infectious diseases,in which,tuberculosis was 19 cases.Eighteen cases were suffered from connective tissue diseases,in which,adult Stills disease was 7 cases.Sixteen cases were suffered from tumors,in which,lymphoma was 6 cases.Other causes were found in 5 cases.Conclusions:Infectious diseases,especially tuberculosis,are the most common causes of FUO.Connective tissue diseases and tumors are other major causes.
