Capecitabine combined with oxaliplatin and docetaxel in treatment of advanced gastric cancer

Abstract
Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of capecitabine combined with oxaliplatin and docetaxel(DOX regimen)in treatment of advanced gastric cancer.Methods:A total of 26 patients with advanced gastric cancer confirmed by pathology were included in this study.All the patients were given oral administration of capecitabine 2 000 mg/m2 two times a day;on d1-14,oxaliplatin 130 mg/m2 and docetaxel 60 mg/m2 were given intravenously for more than 2 hours each time.The regimen was repeated every 21 days.Results:Complete response was observed in 2 cases,partial response in 12,stable in 8 and progression in 4.The total effective rate was 53.8%;the median time to progression was 6 months and the median overall survival was 11 months.The main side effects were bone marrow suppression,nausea,vomiting,neurotoxicity and diarrhea.Conclusions:DOX is an effective,safe and well tolerated chemotherapy regimen for patients with advanced gastric cancer.It is worthy of clinical popularization.
