Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between plasma lipid level and carotid intima-media thickness(IMT) in patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction. Methods: The plasma lipid level and carotid IMT in 103 cases of atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and 52 controls were measured. Results: There were significant differences between plasma lipid level and carotid IMT in the patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and the control group(P<0.05-P<0.01),except the index of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(P>0.05).Conclusions: Abmormal metabolism of plasma lipid level is a risk factor for patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and their carotid IMT is thicker than that of the control group.
