Abstract
Objective: To establish adult alimentary obese rats models and observe their changes in appearance, serum levels of glucose and lipid. Methods: The rats were fed with high fat food for 80 days and their weight, length and Lee's index were observed. Results: The weight, length and Lee's index had significant difference between the control group and the models (P<0.001).Fat rats had higher serum levels of glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein, but lower high-density lipoprotein than normal rats (P<0.01-P<0.001).Conclusions: High fat food may cause alimentary obesity in adult rats, and there's significant difference in serum levels of glucose and lipid between the normal and obese rats.
