Asphyxia neonatorum and its related factors: Analysis of 46 cases

Objective: To explore the factors related to asphyxia neonatorum and to provide the intervention measures.Methods: The related factors of 46 cases of asphyxia neonatorum were retrospectively analysed.Results: Asphyxia neonatorum was mainly caused by the interaction of multiple factors:umbilical cord factors 34.8%;placental factors 41.3%:high risk labor factors 17.4%.With regular antenatal care,the rates of asphyxia neonatorum was 4.9% while without regular antenatal care,the rates of asphyxia neonatorum was 10.8%(P<0.01).Conclusions: Paying attention to perinatal heathcare,managing high risk pregnancy,observing all risk factors and improving monitoring is important to decrease the rates of asphyxia neonatorum.
