Treatment of huge hepatic cysts by CT-guided puncturing and injecting absolute alcohol

Objective: To observe the effect of CT-guided puncturing and injecting absolute alcohol for treatment of huge hepatic cysts.Methods: Eight patients with huge hepatic cysts were treated by puncturing and injecting absolute alcohol for 10 times with the aid of CT.Results: The clinical symptoms of all the 8 cases were obviously alleviated.The cysts were deflated gradually in 8 cases and closed up completely in 2 cases.No serious side effects were observed by type-B ultrasonic or CT examination.Conclusions: Treatment of huge hepatic cysts by CT-guided puncturing and injecting absolute alcohol is effective.It has the advantages of small lesion,little side effect and easy operation.
