Gangliocytic paraganglioma of the urinary bladder

Abstract
Objective: To understand the clinic pathological characteristics,the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of gangliocytic paraganglioma (GP).Methods: One case of urinary bladder GP was observed by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry,and studied combined with related literatures.Results: The tumor was composed of three type of cells:epithelioid cells,spindle Schwann's cell-like cells and mature ganglion cells.Immunohistochemically,the epithelioid cells were positive for CgA,Syn,NSE;the spindle cells were positive for Vim,NF,S-100 protein;and the ganglion cells were positive for GFAP,NSE,NF.Conclusions: GP is a rare benign tumor which commonly located in the duodenum,also can located in urinary bladder.The correct diagnosis can be decided accrording to its pathological characteristics and immunophenotype.
