    Determination of the content of caffeic acid and ferulic acid in compound decoction of Yinchenhao and Huanglianjiedu by high performance liquid chromatography

    • Objective: To establish a high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method for the determination of caffeic acid in compound decoction of Yinchenhao and Huanglianjiedu(CDYH).Methods: HPLC was used with Hypersil BDS C18(5 μm,250 mm×4.6 mm) and the methanolu potassium dihydrogen phosphate(pH=3.7) asmobile phase in gradientmode.The UV detective wave length was at 323 nm.Results: There was a good linear relationship within the concentration range of 8-40 μg/ml in caffeic acid and ferulic acid in CDYH(r=0.999 7,P<0.01).The average recoveries of caffeic acid and ferulic acid were 99.29%,RSD=0.81% and 99.38%,RSD=0.65%.Conclusions: This method is simple,rapid and accurative.
