Abstract
Objective: To observe the antineoplastic action of aspisol on transplanted tumors of C3H mice and the influence of aspisol on hematopoietic organs, hepatic function and renal function of mice.Tumor cell apoptosis had also been determined for providing experiment bases of aspisol in breast cancer therapy. Methods: The suspension of cells was injected subcutaneously into forelimb axillas of C3H mice. From the next day,the explanted animals were received different concentration of aspisol by intraperitoneally once a day for 28 days. The reference group was given 5-Fu and control group was given normal saline. At 30th day after treatment, the mice were sacrificed, tumor weight were examined, haemocyte number were calculated, hepatic function and renal function were detected. The histopathological change were observed microscopically,TUNEL assay in situ were performed for determine the apoptosis. Results: aspisol can inhibit the growth of tumor significantly, the tumor volume were dramatically reduced(P<0.01).Histological examination results showed apparent necrosis in aspisol group.Typical apoptotic morphological changes were seen in all the treated groups.aspisol didn't affect hematopoietic organs, hepatic function and renal function of the tumor bearing animals at certain time or dosage. Conclusions: aspisol has significantly antitumor effects on C3H mice transplantable breast cancer, can induce tumor cell apoptosis, without obvious influence on hematopoietic system, hepatic function and renal function.
