Treatment of ureter stones with ureteroscope pneumatic lithotripsy: A report of 82 cases

Objective: To evaluate ureteroscope pneumatic lithotripsy in the treatment of ureteral stones.Methods: Eighty-two cases of ureteral stones were treated with ureteroscope pneumatic lithotripsy.Results: Seventy-eight cases were successfully cured one time by this method,3 cases failed owing to the stenosis of the ureter and 1 case was halted due to the tortuosity of ureter complicated with polypus in the stones area.These 4 cases resorted to surgical operation.Ureteral small perforation occurred in 1 case and was managed with Double-J which was taken out after 1.5 months.Three months later no stenosis ureter was observed by IVP.Conclusions: Treatment of ureteral stones with ureteroscope pneumatic lithotriptor is a safe and effective method with few complications and a high successful rate.
