Urethroplasty with preputial pedicle tube in treatment of hypospadias in 21 patients

Objective: To evaluate the effect of urethroplasty with preputial pedicle tube in treatment of hypospadias.Methods: Clinical data of 21 patients with hypospadias undergoing urethroplasty with preputial pedicle tube were reviewed.Results: Success of one-stage operation was achieved in sixteen patients with easy urination.The appearance of penis was almost normal.The urinary fistula occurred in 3 patients,urethral orifice stenosis in one patient and anastomotic stoma stenosis in one patient.All complications in the 5 patients were cured by second operation.Conclusions: One-stage urethroplasty with preputial pedicle tube is a preferable method for treatment of hypospadias.The merits of the operation are that it is easy to harvest tissue,the successful rate is high,the complications are less and the appearance is almost normal.
