Abstract
Objective: To explore the clinical application of sural neurovasculr pedicle faseiocutaneous reversed island flap in repairing soft-tissue defection in the inferior segment of the leg, ankle and foot. Methods: Sixteen cases of soft-tissue defects in the ankle and foot were repaired using sural neurovaseular faseiocutaneous reversed island flap. The flap area ranged from 5 cm×7 cm to 18 cm×14 cm and the length of the pedicle 5 cm to 16 cm.Results: All the 14 flaps survived. The distal part necrosed partially in 2 cases and healed after secondary free-skin grafting. All the ceases were followed up for 3 to 6 months. The contour appearance, color and tenacity of the flaps were excellent;the function of the ankle joints was good. Conclusions: The sural neurovasculr pedicle faseiocutaneous reversed island flap has a reliable blood supp1y.It is easy to operate and has a high survival rate, with no harm to the major arteries. It can be used to repair the soft tissue defects in the inferior part of the leg, ankle and foot.
