Analysis of prognostic factors for multiple trauma

    • Objective:To investigate the mortality and prognostic factors of multiple trauma patients. Methods:The clinical data of all 113 patients with multiple trauma admitted to our ICU were retrospectively analyzed. Results:Eighty of 113 multiple trauma patients survived, while 33 of them died. The mortality of all was 29.2%.The morbidity of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) among all 113 patients was 38.1%,and the mortality was 58.1%.Compared with survived and died groups,There were statistical differences about hospitalization days,SIRS score, amount of blood transfused during resuscitation,APACHE Ⅱ score,MODS and shock. Conclusions:The mortality of multiple trauma is very high, the prognostic factors that affected the mortality are hospitalization days,APACHEⅡ score,MODS,shock,SIRS score and amount of blood transfusion.Protection against the prognostic factors can reduce the mortality.
