    Diagnosis and treatment of seven patients with functional delayed gastric emptying after non-gastric operations

    • Objective: To explore the etiology,diagnosis and treatment of functional delayed gastric emptying(FDGE) after non-gastric operation.Methods: The clinical data of 7 patients with FDGE from May 2000 to December 2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Results: FDGE usually occurred on the 4th to 8th day postoperatively.The gastric function of patients who received non-operative therapy recovered on the 15th to 24th day postoperatively.Conclusions: FDGE is caused by multiple factors.Gastroscopy and X-ray of digestive tract are valuable in the diagnosis of it.FDGE can be cured by non-surgical treatment.
