Influence of arsenic trioxide on the expression of telomerase activity in melanoma B₁₆ cells

Objective: To study the influence of arsenic trioxide(As₂O₃) on the telomerase activity in melanoma B₁₆ cells,so as to provide new theoretical and experimental basis for the treatment of melonoma by As₂O₃.Methods: The telomerase activity in melonoma B₁₆ cells was detected by TRAP-ELISA and TRAP-PAGE-silver staining.Results: As₂O₃ could inhibit telomerase activity in melanoma B₁₆ cells and the rates of inhibition had both dose-dependent and time-dependent manner.Conclusions: The inhibition of B₁₆ cells by As₂O₃ is enhanced with the increase of As₂O₃ concentration or prolongation of co-culture time.
