Abstract
Objective: To investigate the nursing methods for tetralogy of Fallot(TOF) in postoperative cardiac intensive care unit(CICU) caring methods. Methods: Sixty-two patients with TOF operated in our department were analyzed and the postoperative CICU care was given. Results: Sixty-one patients recovered completely. One patient died unfortunately.Pulmonary perfusion syndrome happened in five patients.Six underwent low cardiac output syndrome.Central neural complications occurred in three ones.Acute renal failure(ARF) occurred in six patients. The mean CICU caring time was(2.4±0.6)days.The mean time of artificial ventilation was(8.9±2.7) hours. The mean dosage and time of dopamine treatment was(6.7±0.2)μg·kg-1·h-1 and(42±3)hours respectively. All of the patients underwent CICU care and one died of ARF unfortunately. The others recovered completely. Conclusions: Intensive CICU care and early diagnosis of complications in time are essential for the treatment of TOF.
