CT guided interventional therapy in renal and heptic cysts

    • Objective: To investigate treatment and therapeutic effect of CT guided percutaneous puncture and interventional therapy in renal and heptic cysts. Methods: Thirty-three heptic cysts in 30 patients and 48 renal cysts in 45 patients were treated with CT guided percutaneous puncture and interventional therapy. The amount of anhydrous alcohool was 25% of apirated amount of cysts.Gauge 18-21 aspiration needles were used for all patients. All patients were followed-up by CT or ulthasonograpy for three mouths to one year. Results: Twenty-one heptic cysts disappeared;9 heptic cysts were reduced in size and there was no change in 3 cysts. The effective rate was 90.9% and the rate of complete regression was 63.6%.Thirty renal cysts disapeared;12 renal cysts were reduced, and there was no change in 6 cysts. The effective rate was 87.5% and the rate of the complete regression was 62.5%.There were no severe complications. Conclusions: CT guided percutaneous cysts puncture and interventional therapy is a useful and safe procedure for the treatment of renal cysts and heptic cysts.
