Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic significance of B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) in asymptomatic heart failure(AHF).Methods: Plasma BNP was determined in 30 patients with AHF and 30 healthy persons served as control. Results: The plasma BNP concentration in the AHF group was significantly higher than that in the control group(150.80±83.75 pg/ml vs 40.05±15.63 pg/ml)(P<0.01).Conclusions: Detection of B-type natriuretic peptide combined with previous medical history and echocardiography may help to the diagnosis of AHF.
