    Jinshuangqi combined with nifedipine in treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome

    • Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of Jinshuangqi combined with nifedipine for treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Methods: Eighty-eight cases of IBS were randomly divided into treatment group(45 cases) and control group(43 cases).The treatment group were administered 4 tablets of Jinshuangqi and nifedipine 10 mg 3 times a day.The control group were given only 4 tablets of Jinshuangqi 3 times a day.One course lasted for 2 weeks.Results: The toal response rates were 82.22% and 55.81% in the treatment group and control group respectively.The difference was significant(P<0.05).The recurrence rates of the treatment group and the control group within 4 weeks after therapy were 21.62% and 45.83%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: It suggests that Jinshuangqi combined with nifedipine has better effect and less recurrence in treatment of IBS.
