Surgical procedures for thyroid nodules: report of 112 cases

Abstract
Objective: To explore the surgical indications of thyroid nodules and to summarize the experience in treating thyroid nodules.Methods: The clinical data and follow-up results of 112 patients with thyroid nodules who had received surgical treatment between Jan.2001 and Jun.2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Results: Temporary deadlimb was noted in 6 cases,cerchnus in 4 cases and 3 of them were temporary cerchnus,subcutaneous hemorrhage was observed in 1 patient and recurrence in 4 cases.Conclusions: Surgical indications of thyroid nodules should be identified before surgery.Reasonable surgical procedures should be chosen according to the condition of the patients,which may reduce the operation complications and the recurrence rate,and improve the prognosis of patients with thyroid nodules them.
